Watpangiw School Phatumthani Provincial Administration Organization

Location: Moo 2, Tambon Ban Ngiu, Amphur Samkhok, Pathum Thani Province 
School History

According to Watpangiw School’s Website, this school was estabilished on 25th March 1953 as Watpangiw Primary School. At that time, this school is only have 5 grades with 26 students (25 boys and 1 girl). The first administrator of Watpangiw Primary School is Mr. Teab Chuenwittaya.

Formerly, this school is known as ปท.8 until The Thai Government transferred this school to Pathumthani Provincial Administration Organization and recognized as ปท.1 on 1 October 1966. In 1976, Suan Mamuang School is demolished by the government, so the students is transferred to Watpangiw School.

From 1 October 1980, the school was under control by the Office of National Primary Education until 1 May 2009 Watpangiw School transferred to Pathum Thani Provincial Administration Organization by the Office of National Primary Education that approved by Mr. Chan Puangpetch.

Academic Support System

In Watpangiw School for Kindergarten, the classes are managed into 2 grade, grade 1 and grade 2 or kindergarten 1 and kindergarten 2. Kindergarten 1 have 2 classes, it is K.1/1 and K.1/2. Kindergarten 2 have 4 classes, it is K.2/1, K.2/2, K.2/3, and K.2/4. Each class have thai teacher as a homeroom teacher and foreign teacher for teaching english three times a week to students.

No more then 20 students for each class. The class is designed very well for kindergarten, especially they have reading corner in every class, also the classroom is wide and not stuffy, it is support students to move around for warm up or indoor activities.

Teaching System

For the teaching system in english class in kindergarten, teacher uses different theme for each meeting. The steps of teaching is; warm up, presentation, practice, production and wrap up. It’s all have to be done in 50 minutes. Please check the example of the lesson plan by teacher in the bellow section.

Materials and Learning Sourches

Teacher usually use flashcards for the presentation and they have books for children activities (matching, coloring, thicken etc). This book is comprised 4 series; All About Me, People and Places Around Us, Nature Around Us and Surroundings Around Us.

Measurement and Evaluation System

Teacher evaluate children’s ability in every class meet at the end of the activities. For example, teacher will ask students about what does they have learn or play a games or quiz using flashcard about the topic of the day. There is also a test for students. The test is held for 3 times in each semester. It is a listening and speaking test. Teacher using flashcard, picture or another media that will help student and also teacher to commit the test. Sometimes teacher also using body language as a hint for students if they start to be confused about the answers.

As stated in the back of the book activity, Curriculum that used in Kindergarten at Watpangiw School is based on The National Early Childhood Curriculum.
